Are tattoo's wrong?

So I am probably open a can of controversy with this topic but I think we need be open about this topic.    There always  a debate on this topic because of this verse in Leviticus 19:28 " ²⁸ “‘Do not cut your bodies for the dead or put tattoo marks on yourselves. I am the Lord".
 The way some Christians see the meaning of verse is for us Christians  not to getting any tattoo's , but look at the context  and the time this verse was set in , you would realize that this verse was about pagan's who involved idol worship which involved  cutting themselves for idols and having symbols of there idols  tatted on there bodies. Now don't get me wrong i do believe if your are  putting tattoo's  before God and they are become an idol in your life , you to stop getting tattoos.   Lets look at the verses before  Leviticus 19:28, ²⁶ “‘Do not eat any meat with the blood still in it.“‘Do not practice divination or seek omens.²⁷ “‘Do not cut the hair at the sides of your head or clip off the edges of your beard. 
 These all had to do with  pagan rituals , many christians do eat non kosher meats  and get haircuts without getting involved in pagan rituals. An of course it s wrong to read horoscopes and have your future told by fortunes tellers.  
My personal view is i don't think you should just getting any tattoos you want , you should think before you and pray about it .
I personally think its ok for Christians to get tattoo's and i will one day get tattoo's. 


So in closing, i would say its not wrong to get tattoo's but pray before you get tattoo's .
